100 Years of Scouting Theme

The Boy Scouts of America is 100 years old this year and Cub Scout April Vacation Camp plans to celebrate the adventure and continue the journey. Scouts will experience different activities and crafts and learn about the history between 1910 and 2010. Each day will bring in a new time period of fun, excitement and advancement opportunities.

Along with archery, BB-Guns, sling shots, crafts, nature, sports and scout skills, Scouts will have an opportunity to earn belt loops that are new in 2010 such as: Abilities Awareness, Good Manners, and Kickball

Due to facilities and program requirements, April Vacation Camp is limited to the first 150 Scouts with paid registrations.

Camp Facilities

Hoyt Scout Reservation is a beautiful property with several pavilions for shelter. Two of the pavilions will be enclosed to provide warm shelter opportunities. Many of the activities take place on the fields of the camp. The training cabin will also be used as part of the camp program. Safety and comfort of the campers are a top priority for our staff. Please help us provide a safe environment by having your Scouts dress appropriately for the weather conditions. Camp will take place rain or shine.

Wednesday Field Trip

Load up the bus and head on out! The highlight of the week will be a field trip to a museum where Scouts will work on interactive hands on learning. Scouts will be bussed from Hoyt to the museum and will return for normal camp closing hours.

Highly Trained Staff

Our Camp Director and Program Director are certified by the Boy Scouts of American and our shooting sport ranges are certified in range management. An EMT will be on site as our health officer.

Camp Director – Daniel Marazita

Dan has served on CYC Day Camp staff for several years and is credited with being the guru behind the growth and success of summer day camp

Program Director – Lesley Birk

Leslie is a programming genius from the Rip Van Winkle Council in New York that will be sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm with us at camp.

Early Bird (register by March 23) - $230

Regular (register after March 23) - $250

Extended Pickup (till 6:00) - $50

April Vacation camp is a bit more expensive than Cub Scout Summer Day Camp because of the additional facility requirements for the time of the year of the camp, the Wednesday field trip and staffing requirements. We believe in providing a high quality program that Scouts will talk about for years.
