Donate Stuff

Outright donations of materials, gifts-in-kind and support of specific projects has been an important way that Councils make the most effecient use of their budgets. The Connecticut Yankee Council relies on the generosity of businesses and individuals to support its programs with donated materials. If you, your organization or your company is interested in donating time, services or product, please contact your district executive or Director of Finance Steve McEwan (203) 876-6868, Ext. 259 or steven.mcewan@scouting.org and we'll be very grateful to accept.

Donate Time

If you, your unit, organization or business is interested in donating time and manpower to a specific project such as camp improvement, please contact Council Program Director Dan Cooley at (203) 876-6868, Ext. 230 or dan.cooley@scouting.org. The Camp Sequassen Maintenance Committee hosts periodic Camp Work Days you may participate in and there are always projects available.

Summer Camp Supplies / Food

Every dollar donated is another dollar we can spend developing program for the kids. The biggest single item in the summer camp budget is food. If you work for a food distributor that would be interested in donating food supplies, please contact Dan Cooley at (203) 876-6868, Ext. 230 or dan.cooley@scouting.org. Items such as canoes, rifles, rope and other summer camp supplies that are in the budget can also be donated, but please ask first.

Support an Acre of Camp

The Connecticut Yankee Council's Capital Campaign seeks to improve our summer camp properties and is offering a chance to "own" an acre of camp. The proceeds will go into a fund for longterm maintenance of the camp. Become a "Keeper of the Flame" by download the flyer or contact Finance and Marketing Director Tony Vogl at (203) 876-6868, Ext. 244 or tony.vogl@scouting.org.

Eagle Scout Recognition Kits

Each year more than 200 young men from our Council earn the rank of Eagle Scout. Last year, the Council spent over $8,400 to recognize these young men for this achievement with complementary Eagle Kits (badge, medal, knot and pins). These kits are available for sponsorship from individuals or groups. Each kit costs $50. Download the Eagle Scout Recognition Sponsorship Form for more information or contact David Rennie at (203) 876-6868, Ext. 238 or david.rennie@scouting.org.
