Effective March 1st, 2024, the Unit Renewal and member renewal process will no longer be one and the same, formally known as “re-charter”. Membership renewal for both youth and adults is now on a rolling 12-month renewal term based the initial registration of the member. Youth and adult membership fees will be separate from the unit renewal (for most units 12/31/2024).
Unit Key 3 Members (Unit Leader, Committee Chair, Chartered Organizational Representative (COR) will receive a Monthly Renewal Email,
From: Boy Scouts of America noreply@scouting.org
Subject: Monthly Renewal Information (see next page).
The parents of the renewing scout, and any adult leaders will also receive an email from Boy Scouts of America, Subject: Your BSA Membership is up for renewal (see next page).
The Charter Organizational Representatives (COR) may also be asked to “APPROVE” adult leader renewals in my.scouting.org. The COR can designate a COR Representative to complete if needed.
NOTE: Unit Executives need to be renewed as well, there is no fee if this is their only BSA position.
