Open to all Cub Scout Packs within the Connecticut Yankee Council and beyond—Scouts from outside Councils are warmly welcome to join the adventure!

Two Sessions to Choose From

  • Morning Session:
    • 9:45 AM Opening
    • Activities: 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM
    • Limited to 100 Youth
  • Afternoon Session:
    • 12:45 PM Opening
    • Activities: 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM
    • Limited to 100 Youth

Event Highlights

Join us for the 12th Annual Cub Scout Polar Bear event, where Scouts will embark on a winter adventure filled with folklore, fun, and hands-on learning! Scouts will explore four engaging activity stations, each featuring a blend of animal encounters, nature exploration, science experiments, and magical folklore stories from around the world.

Featured Folklore and Activities

  1. Groundhog Day (North American Folklore)
    Explore the legend of the groundhog, learn about shadow science, and discover how nature predicts the seasons.
  2. The Snow Maiden (Russian Folklore)
    Dive into the enchanting story of Snegurochka and explore the wonders of winter’s beauty through interactive activities.
  3. Jack Frost (English & Northern European Folklore)
    Create frosty artwork and uncover the science behind Jack Frost’s icy patterns.
  4. The Yeti (Himalayan Folklore)
    Investigate the mystery of the snow giant, learn about mountain habitats, and discover how wildlife survives in extreme winter conditions.
