Experience the Global Scouting

Adventure of a Lifetime!

The Blair Atholl Jamborette – 2024

CT Yankee Council (CYC) Contingent

What is the Blair Atholl Jamborette?

The Blair Atholl Jamborette is the international Scouting experience of a lifetime! Nestled amid the rugged Scottish Highlands at historic Blair Castle, this premier event hosts more than a thousand Scouts and leaders from around the world for 10 fun-filled days of camping, camaraderie and all-out adventure.

In addition to making new friends and learning new skills, participating Scouts stretch the boundaries of what’s possible! There’s truly something for everyone at the Blair Atholl Jamborette, like gorge walking, canyoning, international Scout games, hiking, biking, canoeing, archery, fishing, bushcraft, the Blair Country Faire, Cirque de Blair, Blair Radio, movie making, mud runs and much, much more!

What’s the history of this great event?

The Blair Atholl Patrol Jamborette began in 1946 as a way to bring together global Scouts as the world recovered from the devastation of WW2. The brainchild of Jack Stewart, former International Commissioner, his unique idea was a patrol-based Jamborette (as opposed to a troop-based Jamboree) with each patrol combining Scottish and overseas Scouts. By living together as patrols, Scouts would get to know each other far better than if they remained in discrete troops. Following the first event’s huge success, Scouts Scotland decided to hold the Blair Atholl Jamborette every two years thereafter, as has been the case ever since!
