Special Training for All
Nov 9 CYC Fall Safety Training – at Easton Country Day School, 660 Morehouse Rd, Easton
Join a day of vital safety courses, including:
- First Aid for Scout Leaders (9:00 am – 12:00 pm): Prepare for emergencies at meetings or outings. Not a certification, but essential knowledge.
- STOP THE BLEED (9:00-11:00 a.m. or 1:00-3:00 p.m.): Learn how to control life-threatening bleeding with three quick actions.
- Mental Health Awareness – Suicide Prevention (9:00-11:00 a.m. or 1:00-3:00 p.m.): Recognize suicide warning signs and apply the QPR method (Question, Persuade, Refer) to offer help.
- Registration by November 6, at https://mycouncil.ctyankee.org/Event/1311
- Fee: $5.00 per class. Lunch available for $8.00. Courses will run alongside the University of Adventure, open to all.
Nov 9 CYC Angler Educator Training — 8:30 am – 12:30 pm at the Easton Country Day School, 660 Morehouse Rd, Easton. This Certified Angling Instructor (CAI) led by the BSA National Fishing Committee, covers fishing programs for Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, and Venturing. Participants will learn fishing techniques appropriate for different ages, from basic cane poles to fly fishing. The fee is $5, with an optional $8 lunch.
