Youth Protection Starts with You: Get Trained

All adults in the Connecticut Yankee Council must complete their Youth Protection Training prior to registering and rechartering. Youth Protection training is accessed from your My.Scouting account. If you don’t have an account must create one on My.Scouting first and then take the online training. You must complete all sections of the course. If you don’t have a BSA Member ID, please complete the course and save a copy of your certificate; you will be issued a PDF version automatically upon completion. Submit the certificate to your unit leader (and keep a copy for yourself). Once you receive a BSA membership ID number, you will need to then update your My.Scouting account profile with your BSA membership ID number.

Please contact your District Executive for in-person, instructor-led group training offered by the Council.

Our Commitment to Youth Protection

The Boy Scouts of America places the greatest importance on creating the most secure environment possible for our youth members. All adult volunteers must be familiar with the principles of Youth Protection. A wide array of training opportunities for Youth Protection are available. Learn more about Youth Protection Training.

All persons involved in Scouting shall report to local authorities any good-faith suspicion or belief that any child is or has been physically or sexually abused, physically or emotionally neglected, exposed to any form of violence or threat, exposed to any form of sexual exploitation, including the possession, manufacture, or distribution of child pornography, online solicitation, enticement, or showing of obscene material. You may not abdicate this reporting responsibility to any other person.
